What are the Different Mobile Operators in Thailand?

There are three major mobile network operators in Thailand, all offering nationwide coverage. In 2023 DTAC and TrueMove H merged under True Corporation, but both brands still operate separately for prepaid customers.

Major carriers

  • AIS (Advanced Info Service)
    Thailand's largest carrier. Brands include 1-2-Call and Serenade.

    Popular for prepaid and Happy tourist SIMs.

    Widely used for prepaid data plans and tourist SIMs.

Closed carriers

The following Thai carriers and MVNOs have shut down or been absorbed into other operators:

  • MyCAT (from CAT Telecom) — CAT merged into National Telecom (NT) in 2021; MyCAT SIMs are no longer sold.
  • I-Kool (under TOT) — TOT merged into National Telecom (NT) in 2021; I-Kool service discontinued.
  • Penguin SIM (under CAT) — discontinued after the NT merger.
  • Mojo 3G — closed.
  • 168 Communication — closed.
  • Samart I-Mobile (under TOT) — closed.
  • TOT 3G — absorbed into National Telecom (NT).
